Edit Sketch

Edit Sketch lets you open an existing sketch for changes and update its name or description from the right sidebar.

Before You Edit

Sketches are organized by project. To edit a sketch, first select the correct project so that only that project’s sketches are shown.

1. Select the Project

  • Go to the Projects screen.
  • Click the project that contains the sketch you want to edit.
  • You’ll be taken to that project’s Sketches view.

2. Sketches for the Project

Once the project is selected, the sketches list loads for that project only. From here you can find and open the specific sketch you want to edit.

Finding and Opening a Sketch

Use the search tools to quickly locate a sketch by name or by date, then open it in a new tab or window.

  1. 1. Use search filters (name or date).
At the top of the sketches list, use the available search fields to narrow down the list:
    • Search by sketch name.
    • Filter or sort by date if needed.
  2. 2. Select the sketch.
Click the sketch you want to edit from the results.
  3. 3. New tab/window opens.
The selected sketch opens in a new browser tab or window. If your browser blocks pop-ups, you may need to allow them for ApProsal.

Editing Sketch Name & Description

Once the sketch is open, use the gear icon to access its details and update the name or description from the right sidebar.

Open the Details Sidebar

  1. With the sketch open, locate the gear icon on the sketch screen.
  2. Click the gear icon.
  3. A right sidebar will slide in, showing the sketch’s name and description fields.

Update and Save

  1. In the sidebar, edit the Sketch Name as needed.
  2. Update the Description to better describe the sketch or its purpose.
  3. Click Save to apply your changes.

Saving updates the sketch metadata for this project. The sketch drawing itself is unchanged by renaming.
