Labels

The Labels tab lets you quickly place room and feature labels on your sketch, using a mix of preset labels, reusable custom labels, and one-time labels created on the fly.

Opening the Labels Tab

Labels are managed from the Labels tab in the right-side panel.

  1. 1. Open the Labels panel.
    Use either of these:
    • Click the Labels button (tags icon) in the top toolbar, or
    • Switch to the Labels tab in the right-side panel if it is already open.
  2. 2. View the label lists.
The Labels tab is divided into:
    • Preset Labels – built-in common labels.
    • Custom Labels – your own reusable labels.
  3. 3. Search if needed.
Use the Search labels… box at the top to filter across both preset and custom labels.

Using Preset Labels

Preset labels are a built-in list of common rooms and areas you can place quickly without any setup.

  • Examples include: Attic, Basement, Bedroom, Kitchen, Garage, Living Room, and more.
  • Scroll the Preset Labels section to see the full list.
  • Click a preset label name (for example, “Kitchen”) to enter label placement mode.
  • Once in label placement mode, click on the sketch canvas where you want that label to appear.

Preset labels are read-only. If you need something not in the list, create a custom label instead.

Custom Labels (Reusable)

Custom Labels are labels you define once and can reuse across sketches, such as “Fenced yard” or “Big pool”.

Add Custom Label to List

  1. In the Labels tab, scroll to the Custom Labels section.
  2. Click + Add Custom Label to list.
  3. A small form appears:
    • Type your label text (up to 50 characters).
    • Click Save to add it to the custom list.
    • Click Cancel if you change your mind.

Labels saved this way remain in your Custom Labels list and can be reused in future sketches.

Using & Managing Custom Labels

  • Place a custom label – click the label name in the list to enter label placement mode, then click on the sketch to place it.
  • Edit mode – click Edit next to “Custom Labels” to toggle delete controls for each label.
  • Delete a custom label – in Edit mode, click the button next to a label to remove it from the list.

Deleting a custom label removes it from the list. Existing labels already placed on sketches are not changed.

“Add Label Now” (One-Time Label)

Add Label Now is used to create a one-time label just for the current sketch. It is not added to your reusable custom list.

  1. 1. Click “+ Add Label Now”.
At the bottom of the Labels tab, click the + Add Label Now button.
  2. 2. Enter the label text.
Type the exact label you want to place (for example, “Pool house notes”).
  3. 3. Place the label on the sketch.
After confirming, click on the sketch canvas where you want this label to appear.

Important

Add Label Now is for a single, on-the-fly label. It is not stored in the Custom Labels list and will not appear as a reusable item on future sketches.

Search & “How to use this tab”

The Labels tab includes tools to help you find labels quickly and remind users how the tab works.

Search Labels

  • Use the Search labels… box at the top of the tab.
  • Typing filters both Preset and Custom label lists.
  • Clear the search box to show all labels again.

How to Use This Tab

At the bottom of the Labels tab there is a small help section titled How to use this tab.
