Save Sketch

Save Sketch finalizes your current work, captures a name, description, and comments, and gives you options for exporting or continuing.

Saving Your Sketch

Use the save icon when you are ready to record your changes and optionally add notes about this version.

  1. 1. Click the Save icon.
    In the sketch window, click the Save icon in the upper left when you are done editing. The sketch is saved immediately when this button is clicked.
  2. 2. Fill in details.
    After saving, a save panel will appear prompting for:
    • Name – the sketch name for this save.
    • Description – a short description of the sketch.
    • Comments – any notes you want to record for this save.
    These details are stored with the saved sketch version.

Export and Output Options

At the top of the save screen, you can optionally export or output the sketch in several formats before moving on.

  • Export to file (JSON) – download the sketch data as a JSON file.
  • Print – send the sketch directly to your printer.
  • Print Preview – preview how the sketch will look when printed.
  • Save Image – save the sketch as an image file.
  • Save PDF – export the sketch as a PDF document.

After Saving

Once the sketch is saved and any exports are done, choose what you want to do next.

Continue Editing

Return directly to the same sketch and keep working with your latest changes saved.

Begin New Sketch

Start a new sketch immediately, staying within the same project.

Return to Sketches

Go back to the project’s Sketches view to see the list of sketches for this project.
